Our Story
"

We don't follow trends — we set them. We don't copy the world — we show the world what Nigerian creativity looks like when it's done with intention, precision, and pride.

— TNB Design Philosophy

2014

Our Beginning

A Dream Sewn by Hand

Trendy N Bespoke started in 2014, not in a glamorous studio, but in a small room in Lagos with a single industrial sewing machine and an unshakable belief: that Nigerian fashion could stand shoulder to shoulder with any in the world.

What began as a one-person operation — sketching designs by night, sewing by day, delivering orders on okadas — has grown into a full fashion house with a team of over 20 creatives, a training academy, and a client base that spans Nigeria and beyond.

"I didn't start TNB to be famous. I started it because I looked at what Nigerian designers were doing and thought — we can do better. We MUST do better."

The name itself tells the story. Trendy — because we stay ahead of what's next. N — because Nigeria is the core of everything we create. Bespoke — because every piece we make is intentionally crafted for the person who will wear it.

The Visionary

Meet the Founder

Founder & Creative Director Tobiloba Okonkwo

Tobiloba Okonkwo

Founder & Creative Director

Tobiloba's journey into fashion was unconventional. With a background in architecture and no formal fashion training, she brought a designer's eye for structure, proportion, and detail into garment construction — and it changed everything.

After years of designing for friends and family, a viral Asoebi order in 2013 became the catalyst to turn a passion project into a business. TNB was officially registered in 2014, and the rest is a story written in stitches, lace, and unrelenting drive.

Today, Tobiloba leads every collection's creative direction, mentors TNB Academy students, and advocates for Nigerian fashion on panels, podcasts, and international showcases.

The Process

How We Create

Every TNB piece goes through a deliberate process — no shortcuts, no compromises.

01
Concept & Design
Every piece starts with a vision — sketched by hand, refined with the client, approved before cutting.
02
Pattern & Measurement
Precise body measurements taken, patterns drafted, every seam planned before touching fabric.
03
Fabric Selection
Source directly from trusted markets — Italian lace, handwoven Aso-Oke, premium Ankara prints.
04
Cutting & Construction
Fabric cut with surgical precision by master cutters, assembled by skilled tailors with decades of experience.
05
Detailing & Embellishment
Beading, embroidery, stone-setting — applied by hand by specialist artisans with meticulous attention.
06
Quality & Delivery
Every garment passes a rigorous 3-point quality check before it ever reaches your hands.

What We Believe

Our Philosophy

These principles shape every decision — from which fabrics we buy to how we treat our team.

Heritage First
We build on Nigerian textile traditions — Adire, Aso-Oke, Ankara — not as novelty, but as foundation.
Precision Always
We obsess over seams, hems, finishes like a watchmaker obsesses over movement.
Client as Co-Creator
We don't dictate — we collaborate. Your vision, our expertise, one authentic piece.
People Over Profit
We pay fair wages, source ethically, price honestly. Building to last, not to flip.
Growing the Ecosystem
Through our Academy, we train future competitors. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Global Mindset, Local Roots
We study global trends but everything is unmistakably, unapologetically Nigerian.
